A Mother's Grief, A Nation's Grief
Each of the runners or spectators who died or were hurt strike us at our core. We cannot imagine the grief of Krystle Campbell's mother even though we saw her through her tears and sobs or the grief of Martin's mother and father, or the parents of the student from China and the countless parents of those injured.
Our hearts go with them. Forever, they will be like the flowers in our minds, bright, sweet and full of light and love, more than victims of hate and terror.
We are devastated in our sorrow. But we are together in our love for the runners and those who came to support them.
Krystle's mother said it best. I can't understand why it happened.
"Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!" - Anne Frank
