It's easy to forgive when you're a mom, and maybe that's how it should be for all of us. A mom always sees the best in her child and believes this child, four or forty, or seventy-four, is the wonder of the world.

I have been on the receiving end many times - and it never ceased to amaze me how my crusty mom just picked up and said "Well," with this air of expecting miracles from me. 

 And that was the best gift she gave me. 

Forgiveness - that sweet interplay between shadow and light. Where your mom forgives you by not even mentioning your transgression. It's that moment when you decide to be your best. Forgiveness is when she lets you know it's your birthright to shine.
